NAB Booth: N816. LOGITEK MOSAIC DIGITAL CONSOLE: Mosaic consoles use a series of drop-in modules that let users purchase console configurations that exactly meet their needs. As with other Logitek digital consoles, Mosaic consoles are router-based, acting as control surfaces for the Logitek Audio Engine. Features in the Mosaic console include multiple frame sizes for consoles ranging from four to 24 faders; multiple full-color LCD screens, showing meters, clocks, timers, delay information, text, custom user graphics, etc.; 16-character source names, providing more information on sources at faders and meters; assignable backlighting on certain buttons for quick identification; and additional control for external equipment. MACKIE DXB X.400: The Mackie Digital X Bus X.400 offers an 192kHz-capable mix engine; dual 15-inch touchscreens; 100mm Penny + Giles optical touch faders; onboard control of a variety of DAWs, including Pro Tools, Logic and Nuendo; VST plug-in support; and streaming digital audio between the Digital X Bus X.400 and your Mac or PC via FireWire. In addition, the X.400 also offers dual processors for massive mix horsepower, an extra card slot for an additional 24 channels of I/O for a total of 92 inputs and 100 outputs at 96 kHz, and comes pre-loaded with Universal Audio’s UAD-1 DSP card. NAB Booth: SL254. MACKIE ONYX SERIES: The Onyx Series of small-format mixers (1220, 1620, 1640) operate at 24-bit/96kHz resolution and are compatible with any Windows or Mac host software. All mixers provide direct multichannel outputs, 12 channels for the Onyx 1220, and 16 channels for the Onyx 1620 and 1640. Fully equipped with two channels of audio from computer to mixer for monitoring allow daisy-chaining of two mixers together, resulting in expanded channel counts feeding into the computer. FireWire technology allows for very low buffer settings, monitoring through the DAW software and plug-ins with no noticeable latency. NAB Booth: SL254. SIERRA AUTOMATED SYSTEMS RUBICON BROADCAST CONSOLE CONTROL SURFACE: Sierra Automated Systems’ Rubicon is a broadcast console control surface for major market radio stations. It interfaces with the SAS 32KD digital audio router/mixer and the Sierra Automated Systems intercom system. NAB Booth: N806. SIERRA AUTOMATED SYSTEMS RUBICON SL BROADCAST CONSOLE CONTROL SURFACE: New at NAB 2005, Rubicon SL is designed for the smaller market or the less-demanding studio application. Similar to the Rubicon but with fewer features. Works with the Sierra Automated Systems 32KD digital audio router/mixer or the new stand-alone RIOLink mixer/router/remote IO system. NAB Booth: N806. SMART AV SMART CONSOLE ELITE 96: The Smart Console Elite 96 control surface offers control over a bevy of DAW features. The Smart Console’s patented ARC technology uses a physical arc located above the controls to represent all of the channels on a traditional long console. By touching the arc at any location, the desired channel and the channels surrounding it immediately appear in front of the sound engineer. With this single touch, 800 previously out-of-reach controls snap to within reach. The hand-written channel description is transferred to the digital scribble strip in front of the user. SOLID STATE LOGIC C200 V. 3: The C200 provides the latest adaptation of SSL’s popular in-line console heritage with a dedicated ”knob per function“ control surface. NAB Booth: N3626. SPL MIXDREAM: MixDream is a cascadable, 16x2 analog outboard mixer. Any DAW or digital console can be expanded with active analog stereo summing and insert functionality. MixDream offers high-grade analog summing on two rackspaces—no analog mixing console necessary. Features include active Class-A/60-volt stages for analog summing in the quality of the best consoles; 16 balanced inserts for integrated analog effects with hard-bypass relays; fewer A/D conversions required (14 A/D conversions can be spared with all inserts connected); channel adjustments and automation (level, pan etc.) remain controlled from the DAW so the user loses no digital efficiency; lower DAW processor utilization rates; and latency-free monitoring. STUDER ONAIR 500 MODULO: Ideal for small- to mid-sized radio studios and OB vehicles, the Studer OnAir 500 Modulo is a compact digital broadcast, self-op DJ console based on the same reliable platform as the fixed-frame OnAir 500 but offering the freedom to integrate individual console sections as desired into custom studio furniture. The Modulo version comprises one or two fader modules, one master module, the meter bridge and a 19-inch electronics rack, resulting in either a 6 or 12-fader mixing desk. STUDER VISTA 8: The Studer Vista 8 digital live production console combines and extends the powerful on-air features of the Vista 6 with the dynamic automation of the Vista 7 to create a highly sophisticated and flexible multipurpose live broadcast desk. WHEATSTONE GENERATION 6 DIGITAL CONTROL SURFACE: The Generation 6 embodies the feature set of the series’ larger surfaces into a studio-friendly footprint, which provides seamless integration with the Bridge digital audio router and allows system-wide access to a station’s on-air and off-air audio resources via interlinked Cat-5 or fiber-optic cable.
