It’s also ideal for limited-bandwidth environments found in HD media applications such as interactive delivery of audio content and applications using an enhanced feature package. NAB Booth: SU7870. E.A.R. 660 COMPRESSOR: The EAR 660 Fairchild-type valve limiter/compressor is designed to limit or compress the signal with the barest minimum of interference below threshold and give the most subjectively satisfying operation on high-level signals. The unit has the standard range of attack and release times, making it easy to use. Considerable effort has been spent optimizing the behavior around the “knee” of the attack/decay envelope and this that greatly contributes to the outstanding transparency and transient response that has made the E.A.R. 660 the first choice of many top professionals. Price: $5,675. NAB Booth: N4522. LINEAR ACOUSTIC MODEL LA-5124 WITH AUTONORM: Working in cooperation with Dolby Labs, Linear Acoustic has developed the next step in audio loudness management. AutoNorm™ solves long-term loudness problems without sacrificing dynamic range or audio quality in a new version of the Linear Acoustic LA-5124 StreamStacker™ De-Multiplexer/AC-3 Splicer. Long-term dialog loudness is measured in an ATSC standard manner, and an appropriate dialog level value is inserted into one or more pre-compressed Dolby Digital (AC-3) streams by the LA-5124. This system is then able to provide automatic control of the long-term loudness of programming without any need for decoding and re-encoding, or for manually setting audio metadata parameters. AutoNorm technology can be installed at any DTV station from any network, and at program providers, cable head ends or satellite origination facilities NAB Booth: C3607F.
