These compact analog mixers provide 16-bit stereo simultaneous inputs and outputs over USB. Models 8USB and 12USB (pictured) have four high-gain mic/lines; the 16USB has eight high-gain mic/line (XLR and 1⁄4-inch balanced) inputs with phantom power, two stereo balanced 1⁄4-inch line inputs, aux send (can send to onboard or external effects) and a stereo aux return. ALLEN & HEATH GL2400
The GL2400—available in 16, 24 and 32-channel versions with a 40-input version shipping later in the year—offers a feature set dedicated to modern sound engineering, including in-ear monitoring and matrix recording. A third master fader can be configured to create a center fill or sub-bass mix from aux 6, a mono sum of the LR mix or a monitor wedge output. All channels have pre/post-fader aux switching; in Monitor mode, all auxes are available on faders with mutes, inserts, meters and XLR drive. The new 7x4 matrix provides extra output flexibility. ALLEN & HEATH GL2800
The GL2800 is equipped with L, R and M mixes, eight groups, 10 auxes including a dedicated stereo aux and a 12x4 matrix including external inputs and four mute groups. Models from 16 to 56 channels are available. In Monitor mode, 14 stage mixes and engineer’s mix can be created. Mic cross-patching into the matrix allows ambience to be added to live recording and IEM mixes. The GL2800 offers the latest audio circuitry, with an extended preamp gain range of 74 dB (input on XLR or jack), a new ultra-quiet mix head amp design for optimum dynamic range and differential output XLR drive to +26 dBu.
