For the 13th time, more than 100 magazines from all over the world—including Mix magazine—voted for the best musical instruments and audio equipment of 2011-2012 in more than 40 categories of the Musikmesse International Press Award (MIPA). The awards were presented to the winners at a special MIPA Awards ceremony and party that was held in Frankfurt, Germany, during Musikmesse/Prolight + Sound on Thursday, March 22, 2012.

More than 300 international representatives of manufacturers and distributors of musical instruments and audio equipment got together for the 13th MIPA Awards show, including guests from the U.S., Canada, Japan, Brazil, South Africa, Russia, Poland, Great Britain, Italy, France, Greece, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.

This year's Best Innovative Product award went to the Kemper Profiling Amplifier, which enables users to create and store custom Profiles of amplifier sounds and characteristics, and also offers onboard effects and stompboxes.
