The new wired and wireless technology of AKG’s Emotion|TriPower line is now available. The new Emotion Series C 900M and D 880M feature updates of two of AKG’s stage microphones. The D 880M dynamic mic features AKG’s patented Varimotion System, which allows the transducer’s response to be fine-tuned as the diaphragm is molded and delivers highly intelligible sound. The list price of the AKG D 880M is $147, and the D 880MS with silent on/off switch lists at $159.

AKG’s C 900M condenser microphone features an extremely uniform polar response and includes the PB 1000 presence boost adapter that can be added for a custom-tailored frequency response. The list price of the C 900M is $250.

The all-new TriPower models are now shipping. The D 3700M ($195) is a dynamic cardioid with superb sound and excellent pattern control; the same model with a silent on/off switch is $210. The D 3800M is a dynamic supercardioid for use on loud stages and adds a humbucking coil for freedom from electrical interference and has more extended response. The list price of the AKG D 3800M is $252; the switched version is $266.

The top-of-the-line C 5900M condenser has excellent articulation, but without the “reach” that can cause audio problems on live stages. The C 5900M is a supercardioid with the clarity of a condenser and features low-frequency roll-off and -6dB pads. This model has a list price of $398.

All TriPower models are shipped in a hard-shell metal road case with unbreakable stand clamp included.
