Mirror Image Recorders (New York City) recently welcomed all-female rock group Antigone Rising (pictured), who recorded part of their Lava Records debut on one of the studio’s three SSL consoles.

The new band worked with several producers, including David Bendeth, who will also mix the album at Mirror Image. The album is slated for an August 2004 release.

“We want to break out of the mold of what everyone thinks we’re supposed to be as a female rock group,” says Cassidy, lead singer of the New York City-based quintet. “We are not The Donna’s or L7; we are a product of numerous, diverse influences that forges something completely different. And we don't consider ourselves original for a female group; we hope to be unique when compared to any male band as well.”

Located in the heart of Times Square, Mirror Image Recorders’ client list includes producer Erick Sermon, artist Redman, Grammy Award-winning producer Rockwilder, artist Method Man and others. In addition to the SSL consoles, the studio features a Pro Tools|HD system and Studer tape machines. For more information, visit www.mirrorimagerecorders.com.
