Aphex Systems (Sun Valley, Calif.) appointed Eric Brooking to the new position of engineering manager, with responsibility for DSP and algorithm development, in addition to analog and power-supply design.

Most recently, Brooking was VP of engineering at Kove Audio Group and prior to that senior design engineer at Line 6.

"He is a highly talented individual who will be a valuable asset to Aphex," said Marvin Caesar, Aphex Systems president. "Having worked at Line 6 and Kove Audio, we look upon Eric as an 'all-round Renaissance man' who can combine DSP design skills with a high appreciation of the way that the circuits sound in real-world applications. Having Eric aboard our engineering department, together with VP of engineering Donn Werrbach, will also enable us to dramatically shorten the time it takes to turn an excellent idea into a saleable product."
