Behringer announced the launch of the Behringer Tube UltraGain MIC200, the second in a series of high-end vacuum tube preamplifiers intended as a sound-enhancing tool for studio, live and hard disk recording. The Tube UltraGain MIC200 is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2004.

Each MIC200 is equipped with a hand-selected 12AX7 vacuum tube with UTC technology for warmth, lowest noise and signal integrity. In addition, the MIC200 features ultraflexible preamp modeling technology that allows the user to quickly optimize recordings and choose between 16 preamp voicings. The MIC200 complements studio-grade condenser mics and can also be used as a DI box.

The MIC200 features the company’s output limiter that prevents signal distortion, a dedicated low-cut filter eliminates unwanted noise such as floor rumble, a phase reverse function, +48-volt phantom power supply, a highly accurate 8-segment LED level meter and a 20dB pad function. Balanced inputs and outputs on 1/4-inch TRS and gold-plated XLR connectors complete its feature set.

This microphone preamp may be used as a preamp for instruments ranging from electric and bass guitars to keyboards and percussion.

The MIC200 is designed in Germany and manufactured under the ISO9000 certified management system.
