The Mac version of MetaJam allows musicians to wrap metadata around their digital songs or music tracks so that catalog searches on genre, subject matter and production style can be easily conducted. The software then uploads the song data and audio files, synchronizing with Broadjam’s music search engine.

MetaJam also helps musicians build a Website with free hosting, create professional promotion and press kits, organize songs and photos, and post gigs.

“Broadjam sees the Mac platform product as an essential platform. We love what Apple is doing in the music space, and we are proud to be a part of it,” said company founder and CEO Roy Elkins. “MetaJam is the perfect complement to Apple’s music creation software, Soundtrack. Musicians can post their music online at Broadjam.com immediately after completing a Soundtrack composition.”

In addition, Broadjam is also close to converting its entire song library into the new .AAC (MP4) format for streaming artist’s music to its listeners through iTunes.

MetaJam for Mac is recommended to run on a G4 processor with 128 MB of RAM; minimum requirements include a G3 processor and 64MB RAM, OS X, a CD drive and 800x600 monitor resolution. The software works with both Jaguar (10.2) and Panther (10.3) versions of OS X. MetaJam retails for a MSRP of $199.
