The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced the 11 members of the 2004 class of inductees into its Hall of Fame, bringing the total number of Hall of Famers to 86. A panel of 17 industry professionals and media members selected the class based on integrity, character and impact on the CE industry.

The inductees include EMI's Alan Blumlein, Henry Brief of Home Furnishings Daily, Bell Labs' Joel Engel and Richard Frankiel, Robert E. Gerson (TWICE), Ken Kai of Pioneer, Jerry Kalov of Kay Associates/Cobra Electronics, Paul Klipsch of Klipsch Audio Technologies, General Instrument's Dr. Woo Paik, Sony Corp.'s Norio Ohga and Steven Wozniak of Apple Computer.

"The latest class of Hall of Fame inductees represent the best of the best of a dynamic and innovative industry," said Gary Shapiro, CEA president and CEO. "With their unique creativity, persistence and vision, these 11 pioneers have championed the development of new technologies and concepts that have changed for the better the way we all live and work."
