Ultimate Sound Bank introduced “Charlie,” an all-organ virtual instrument designed to bring the sounds of the classic electric organs to the composer’s desktop. Powered by USB’s UVI-Engine, Charlie’s 3GB sample library delivers authentic organ sounds and CPU efficiency. Charlie will be distributed in North America by ILIO Entertainments and was unveiled at Winter NAMM 2004.

Charlie’s 3 GB of samples were recorded using premium gear at a world-class studio. All of the samples are available with and without a rotating speaker effect, allowing the user flexibility without the need for a sampler. Hundreds of drawbar combinations are provided along with real-time crossfade control between presets and speaker effects. Charlie offers extended parameters, including percussion, classic synth controls and reverb, to allow each preset to be adapted to any user’s individual needs. The product’s full MachFive compatibility provides users of MOTU’s virtual sampler with direct access to the library. All user-edited parameters can be saved with each project for creativity and efficiency.

Charlie retails for $299, and is available for the PC (VSTi), Mac OS 9 (MAS, RTAS and VST) and Mac OS X (MAS, RTAS, AudioUnits and VST).
