Course Technology, part of The Thomson Corporation and provider of corporate and professional learning solutions, announced the acquisition of Cool Breeze Systems and its digital media education products. Cool Breeze Systems produces interactive audio CD-ROMs, tutorials and online classes.

Currently, the Cool Breeze product line focuses on music technology, but the software shell can produce interactive tutorials for many different technologies. This product line will be joining the digital media education line of products and are available online on Muska & Lipman's Website (www.muskalipman.com), a division of Course Technology and publisher of music technology books.

"This is an exciting development and will continue to differentiate our product line from competitors, enhance our direct sales efforts and show the continued commitment Thomson and Course Technology have in the retail division to grow and be successful," said Andy Shafran, senior VP, retail division.

Steve Albanese, founder and president of Cool Breeze, and co-author of Pro Tools Power from Muska & Lipman is joining Course Technology as a member of the retail division as a senior product manager. Albanese will focus on expanding the series of music technology tutorials and online classes, but will also embrace the larger focus of expanding this product line into other technologies.
