Max Air, Euphonix’s on-air digital audio broadcast console, gets a set of new features and a performance boost with Version 1.2 software.

New features in 1.2 include “Spill,” which was originally developed for System 5 to handle multichannel surround channels from a single fader. A single channel strip can be designated as the master strip for the multiple channels in a surround-format source. At the touch of a button on the master channel, the sources (6 in the case of a 5.1 source) appear on the console surface so that individual channels may be adjusted; another button press removes them from the surface, leaving just the master strip. This feature saves time in having to fill up the control surface with every source channel and makes it simpler and less cluttered to mix shows in any format.

Another new feature included is a time-of-day timecode display that is synched with the facility clock.

This version also includes a no-charge hardware processor upgrade to each control module to improve system performance and will be available for delivery in October 2003.
