Eventide announced the formation of its new Audio Software Group to be headed by general manager Jason Beck. Beck, who led the development of the Eclipse and the Eventide Clockworks Legacy plug-ins for Digidesign Pro Tools TDM, has assumed immediate responsibility for this dedicated development team.

"Eventide's position on the cutting edge of algorithm design is well-established," Beck explained. "With the evolution of the desktop reaching this mature state, Eventide has an opportunity to provide the new generation of artists, engineers and producers with great-sounding, highly reliable plug-ins that will enhance their creativity in the same way our hardware products helped define the sounds of the past three decades."

Beck also announced the introduction of two new plug-ins for Pro Tools TDM for Mac: Eventide Reverb and the Octavox™ Harmonizer®. Eventide previously announced on September 15, 2003, the availability of Version 1.1 of its Clockworks Legacy plug-in bundle, which marks the first release among third-party developers that is compatible with Digidesign's new Accel HD process cards.

"Clockworks Legacy was a labor of love," Beck continued, "and it's especially gratifying to see musicians and producers use our tools to create great music. We've received so much positive feedback from many artists and engineers that it makes absolute sense that we form a dedicated group within Eventide to focus solely on this growing market. I am very excited to lead our aggressive development path and I look forward to working closely with this community to develop the type of tools our customers require from Eventide."
