Front-of-house engineer Peter Arsenault has just completed a worldwide tour with multiple artists and groups, where he used Eventide’s Reverb 2016 and Eclipse digital audio effects processors extensively to re-create a slew of studio effects in live sound applications. Arsenault's most recent tour included Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion, Luna, Sussan Deyhim and many others.

"The Eclipse is dense and deep," Arsenault stated. "In live sound applications, it is critical to find the right sound to mimic the original recording, and if you can't find that sound on the Eclipse, you won't be able to find it at all."

For Luna, Arsenault used the Reverb 2016’s Room algorithm, while implementing the plate with a short decay on the drums for John Spencer's Blues Explosion. With Deyhim, the engineer relied on the new Hall set to a long decay time, which was used to envelope her wide-ranging vocal sound in a space reminiscent of the Taj Mahal. "Other multipurpose boxes simply lack the unique character and simplicity of use of the Reverb 2016," Arsenault said. "To have a single box in your rack that does one thing and one thing well is a godsend in live sound, and I am very pleased that Eventide brought that back with the Reverb 2016."
