Plug-ins are in use almost every day in any music production. What's your go-to plug-in? What's the oddest use you've put a plug-in into effect? E-mail the staff at mixeditorial@mixonline.com.
Full Sail (Winter Park, Fla.) has purchased more than 72 Argosy Console pieces for its multistation lab environments, which houses Digidesign ProControl and Control 24 worksurfaces, as well as Sony DMX-R100s, Mackie d8bs and MIDI systems built around Logic Audio and the Logic controller.
Full Sail Recording Arts program director, Bill Smith, said, “We evaluated a lot of studio furniture options based on some pretty specialized qualifications that ultimately led us to choosing Argosy. Our first priority was ergonomics. Our students and staff sit at these stations for extended periods of time and we wanted furniture that would facilitate both comfort and a logical workflow. We were also impressed with the look of Argosy. They lend the room a very professional, functional and organized appearance. It’s amazing how installing a small- to medium-sized console in an Argosy Console can create the look, feel and function of a large-format mixing desk, particularly since you can have a patchbay, audio interfaces, processors and other key peripheral pieces mounted right alongside the desk. Argosy studio furniture has proven itself to be very durable in an educational setting where the labs run 24/7.”
