Pearl Jam was recently in Seattle's Chop Suey club for two days in September and brought in Le Mobile to record the live music synched with a 35mm film shoot for the band's first full-fledged video in nine years.

According to Brett Eliason, longtime live and studio mixing engineer for Pearl Jam, working with Le Mobile was a wonderful experience: "Le Mobile has a personable and very professional crew. It's also wonderful to have a great Class-A analog console like Le Mobile's vintage Neve, especially for a band like Pearl Jam. It fits their sound very well."

The band performed six songs, including the slated single "I Am Mine" from their forthcoming studio album Riot Act (Sony). According to Eliason, all six songs will be edited, with tentative plans to release a promo video in Europe.

Eliason was assisted by Le Mobile chief engineer Charlie Bouis, with Seattle freelance engineer John Burton operating the Pro Tools|HD rig. The tracks were recorded simultaneously by Le Mobile's Studio D827 DASH-format digital recorder and Pro Tools-compatible Tascam MX-2424 hard disk recorder. Inside the club, Le Mobile techs Ian Charbonneau and Ted Barela handled the stage-end details of the recording. Production company for the project was Rockfight, with the shoot produced by Kathleen Kennedy and directed by James Frost.
