Christian music artist/McPherson Guitars owner Matt McPherson recently purchased two Soundelux ELUX 251 microphones to use in both his Wisconsin home studio and his Nashville-based project studio, adding to a collection that includes vintage Neumann and AKGs, as well as newer model mics. McPherson will use the mics, as well as Pro Tools rigs and RADAR units, to record material for his newly-formed Autumn Records, which features McPherson and his wife, Sherry, as its flagship artists.

The ELUX 251 embodies the many of the characteristics of the Telefunken ELA M251. The ELUX 251 uses a hand-built, hand-tuned and strictly tested German capsule with a 6mil Dupont Mylar film diaphragm and the same close tolerances and asymmetrical design as the famed CK-12 capsule. The head grille's internal chamber resonance closely matches the Tele 251 in equivalent volume and "mesh count" that affects high frequency response. Capsules are specially selected and then matched to a no-compromise design using tube and transformer circuitry. The ELUX 251 comes in a large, aluminum briefcase with the 110/220VAC P251 power supply, all cables, instructions and shock mount.
