At the upcoming Musikmesse/ProLight&Sound (March 31-April 3, 2004, in Frankfurt, Germany), Alcons will celebrate its first anniversary and will show its LR16; the company will also host off-site demonstrations of The Ribbon line array system.

In addition to the Ribbon system, the LR16Bass will be introduced, with features such as dual 15-inch NeoDymium drivers in compact bandpass configuration for a very high efficiency and low weight (102 dB 1W/1 m. @ 43kg.). The system is to be used as a bass extension of the LR16 when additional pressure bass is required. The LR16Bass can be flown or stacked.

The LR14 is Alcons’ ultracompact line array module, featuring the patented RBN401 pro ribbon driver and dual 6.5-inch cone transducers. Designed as either ultracompact line array system or as an underfill for the LR16, the LR14 has a dispersion pattern of 120x15 degrees. The 800W peak power handling offers similar dynamic response as the LR16.

The ALC4 Amplified Loudspeaker Controller is a 2x 2kW Class-G controller/amplifier. With features like Speaker Drive Processing (SDP™) and Signal Integrity Sensing (SIS™), the ALC4 is dedicated to powering and controlling Alcons speaker systems. When taking out the SDP modules of the front-accessible slots, the ALC performs like a high-quality “standard” 2-channel stereo amplifier that can be used with any loudspeaker system.

For high-fidelity sound reinforcement, Alcons Audio introduces its BF181. In combination with a VR8 or VR12, this single 18-inch “deep-tuned” front-loaded subwoofer offers a hi-fi solution for reinforcing classical, jazz or acoustical music and offers a flat response from 25 Hz up to 20,000 Hz.

A selection of other company products will be on show in Hall 8, stand F39. For more information, visit http://www.alconsaudio.com/site/l_series.html. For more new sound reinforcement products, visit mixonline.com/live_sound_products/index.htm.
