Interviewed by KBLX 102.9 program director Kevin Brown, Jam talked openly about everything from his musical childhood, his tenure as keyboardist for funk/R&B band The Time and his 30-year friendship and 20-plus-year music and business partnership with Terry Lewis. He also discussed the opening of Flyte Tyme West, the duo’s new Los Angeles-based production facility and their gradual shift from 2-inch analog tape to Pro Tools|HD. In regards to hard disk recording, Jam championed NARAS’ Producers and Engineers Wing for establishing guidelines for Pro Tools session interchange and standards for digital master delivery.
