Genex Audio recently supplied a pair of GX9000 8-track multiformat digital systems to producer Ray Kimber for a series of sessions at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He recorded the 20-member WSU Chamber Choir, faculty, students and guests in several musical settings using his proprietary, four-mic, four-baffle “IsoMike” array.

Sessions were captured in Direct Stream Digital/DSD mode to four tracks on the Genex GX9000. The sessions also incorporated custom Millenia Media preamplifiers. Kimber, also the president of Kimber Kable, a company that specializes in the design and innovation of high-performance interconnect and loudspeaker cables, will continue to experiment with the “IsoMike” array, using various mic positions and recording to the Genex GX9000.
