Band:
Annie Lennox
Sound Company: Clair Bros./Showco
FOH Engineer: Jim Ebdon
FOH Console: DiGiCo D5 64-channel digital. "We can run the
fiber-optic cable from a box onstage out to the console, so
there’s no thick cables anymore. And the quality’s
fantastic."
Monitor Engineer: Tim Paterson
Monitor Console: Midas Heritage 3000.
P.A.: Clair Bros. I-4 line array, with the new crossovers, and
Clair I/O loudspeaker controller from Lake Technologies. At Orpheum
Theatre (San Francisco), system included two 5-inch and four 10-inch
cabinets per side, with two I-4B bass cabinets and two S-4 subs per
side. A series of P-2s covered the outer reaches.
Other Gear of Note: Annie Lennox’s vocal chain starts
with an Audio-Technica 4054, "a good-quality mic that doesn’t
color the sound at all," says Ebdon, who travels with a Focusrite ISA
430 Producer Pack and BSS 901 compressor. "She has a very dynamic
vocal, and I like to compress the high-mids in her voice."
Tour Dates: May-June North American theater tour.
