Based on the overall design of the Sennheiser HD 600, the dynamic open-air HD 650 combines an extremely flat frequency response (10 to 39,500 Hz/-10 dB) with natural dynamics, superior resolution and a smooth, uncolored sound. The biggest difference comes in the new model's enhanced bass response, an upgraded cable and reduced distortion in the high frequencies.

"With so many professionals upgrading their equipment to produce 5.1 and other high-resolution recordings, the Sennheiser HD 650 now offers headphones that keep pace with the high-end gear," said Rob Douglas, Sennheiser's manager of consumer products.

HD 650 features include hand-selected, matched transducers with tight tolerances (+/1 dB); computer-optimized magnet systems for minimizing harmonic and intermodulation distortion; extremely lightweight aluminum voice coils; neodymium-ferrous magnet systems; specially developed acoustic silk provides uniform damping over its entire frequency range and minimizes intermodulation and harmonic distortion; extremely natural, spatial sound image; balanced, crisp bass and deep bass reproduction’ specially developed OFC copper cable, Kevlar-reinforced, eliminates handling noise; gold-plated 1/4-inch jack plug with adapter lead to 3.5mm jack plug; and a two-year warranty.

The Sennheiser HD 650 is available with an MSRP of $499.95.
