Tapeworks Inc., an audio post-production and music recording facilities based in the Northeast, has purchased and installed a pair of Genelec 1037B tri-amplified monitors, which will serve as the main far-field monitoring system for the facility’s principal control room, Studio A. The Genelec 1037B monitors, which were purchased from Parsons Audio in Boston this summer, were mounted in fixed soffits. They will complement the studio’s near-field monitoring system, which comprises a pair of Genelec 1031A monitors.

According to chief engineer at Tapeworks, Bill Ahearn, the install was prompted by specific recording project: “Scott Childs is a brilliant artist with an amazing acoustic rock sound. The band was also incredible, with great session players like Jeff Pevar on guitar. We especially wanted the new Genelec 1037Bs in here to mix that record. The Genelecs allow us to crank up the level and feel the power of the music, yet still hear the nuances that are part of acoustic recordings.”
