TC Electronic will put up for auction on eBay a gold anodized collector's edition Lab.gruppen fP6400 power amplifier and will donate the proceeds to the John Muldowney Memorial Fund. The auction will be held from Monday, November 17, to Wednesday, November 26, and can be found by searching for "Lab.gruppen fP6400."

John Muldowney (pictured, right), a well-known and much-respected live soundman and audio engineer, died suddenly on November 2 from a heart attack shortly before soundcheck at a concert for World Peace. Also known by colleagues as Johnny Moe or Moe, Muldowney worked live sound for nearly 30 years on concerts ranging from Bruce Springsteen to David Lee Roth and from Shania Twain to New Kids on the Block. Muldowney co-founded the sound production company Scorpio Sound Systems with Gary King.

"John was one of the ones who made it happen," George Travis, Bruce Springsteen's tour director, told The Boston Globe. "He could walk into a big hall or stadium and figure out how to make the speakers sound correctly and then sit down at a soundboard and mix the sound, as well."

King, who founded Scorpio Sound with Muldowney, described him as a man at peace with himself. "He knew how to deal with all kinds of people—often under stress—including entertainers who think they are special.”

"When Gary told us about the memorial fund that had been set up for John's family, I knew right away we would help. By donating the amplifier, we hope more people will become aware of John's contribution to the live sound industry and the help his family needs just now," said Ed Simeone, president of TC Electronic. "We chose the eBay forum as the best place to see an immediate result and all proceeds from the amp will go directly to the John Muldowney Memorial Fund."

Additional donations in Muldowney’s memory can be made to: John Muldowney Memorial Fund, c/o Rockland Trust, Attn.: Dave Thomas, 485 Belmont St., Brockton, MA 02301.
