Veteran monitor engineer Mark Drale was the first engineer in the U.S. to use the new EQ Station and MotoFader 64 from TC Electronic on a live show while mixing Michael McDonald’s sold-out event at Florida State University in Tallahassee. Show Systems (Orlando) supplied the sound system for the Ruby Diamond Auditorium show, pairing two 8-channel EQ Stations with a Yamaha PM5000.

“I especially like the dynamics section and the ability to link channels for stereo operations; it’s perfect for in-ears,” Drale said. “I couldn’t believe they crammed that much parametric, graphic and dynamic control into such a small package.” The compact size of the EQ Stations enable the units to travel to Tallahassee as carry-on luggage.

“With only a short time before the EQ Station’s release in the U.S., it seemed like a good time to take the EQ Station and MotoFader on a shakedown cruise,” said TC Electronic president Ed Simeone. “Mike’s tour supporting his Platinum-selling Motown CD seemed like the perfect venue to do the final testing.”
