The producers, engineers and other audio professionals behind Dave Matthews' "The Space Between" and the production team for Diana Krall's The Look of Love were among the many winners at the 18th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards, held Monday, October 7, at the Wilshire Grand Hotel. The ceremony was hosted by actor/comedian Harry Shearer.

In addition to 24 awards for Technical and Creative Achievement, the capacity crowd witnessed the induction of legendary Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick into the TEC Awards Hall of Fame, and the presentation of the prestigious Les Paul Award to Robbie Robertson. Al Schmitt (who received a TEC Award himself for his engineering on The Look of Love) presented the Hall of Fame Award to Emerick, along with engineer/producers George Massenburg and Elliott Scheiner. Renowned producer Daniel Lanois presented the Les Paul Award, sponsored by Gibson Musical Instruments, to Robbie Robertson.
