Joel Krantz, an instructor with Video Symphony, a Hollywood-based TV, film and DVD education center, will present a four-part series of in-depth Pro Tools audio sessions during the upcoming Entertainment Technology World Expo, on June 26, 2003.

Session 1, Editing Sound with Digital Picture, will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. This session will demonstrate how to use the basic editing modes, tools and other techniques to edit and synchronize audio to digital picture, using a short scene from a feature film. Session 2, Using Plug-In Inserts, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. This session will demonstrate how to access and use real-time digital plug-in inserts in Pro Tools, discussing some common uses and the general features and options that are available. Session 3, Using Beat Detective, will run from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. This session will demonstrate how to use Beat Detective, a powerful tool to analyze, edit and manipulate audio with an inherent rhythmic character. Examples of using Beat Detective to generate bar and beat markers and match drum beats to other tempos using a multitrack pop music session will be covered. Session 4, Creating and Editing Automation, will run from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. This session will demonstrate how to create and edit automation for final mixing. Creating both real-time and graphically edited automation data using a number of techniques will be covered.
