The Society of Composers & Lyricists and Truespec Systems will present the world premiere of the Vienna Symphonic Library Pro Edition tonight at the Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

From 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., events include a tech talk with JE Hartwick and Bruce Williams, chief of technology for Truespec Systems to discuss Windows XP; a meeting with Pete Snell of Tascam (formerly of Sound Chaser) to discuss GigaStudio; a meeting with Gregory Butler of Native Instruments to discuss Kontakt and other programs; Grammy Award-winning engineer Jeff Sheridan will demonstrate Samplitude and Sequoia, used by VSL to record the VSL library; and a meeting with president Tom Sailor to discuss RME products.

From 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., events include Peter Alexander, author of over 50 titles, discussing the important factors of where music production technology is today, where it's going and important trends to watch for; an overview by Snell of what GigaStudio is, how it works and issues for Mac users concerned about using Windows; a special presentation introducing attendees to the people who created the VSL, where and how it was created; and then the premiere of the Vienna Symphonic Library Pro Edition.

Special pricing on VSL, GigaStudio Libraries, GigaStudio and Native Instruments products will be available to both SCL and G.A.N.G. members this night only. The event is free to members of the SCL; $15 for nonmembers; $10 for G.A.N.G. members; and $10 for students with valid IDs.
