Violet Audio's new passive volume control, M-Patch ($179), is a compact half-rackmount-sized passive volume control and patch control device that is geared for use with mixerless DAW and nonlinear video production environments, as well as for stereo level control solution for any monitoring or distributed sound application.

The M-Patch's rotary controls allow precise level adjustments for two input sources. The M-Patch features completely balanced operation with its combo XLR/TRS input jacks and XLR outputs, and can also be used in unbalanced applications with the RCA inputs provided on the rear. Two stereo output channels are provided (A and B) with a selector switch on the front panel. Other features include independent aux and main input rotary volume control, balanced and unbalanced input (XLR and RCA), A/B output pair selector, mono/stereo switch and a mute switch.
