West L.A. Music and Peter Tilden, a DJ on Los Angeles radio station KZLA, donated a guitar signed by Kid Rock to Hillsides, a nonprofit treatment center for children. The guitar was signed at KZLA’s Country Bash, held at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, Calif., on October 11, 2003. West L.A. Music’s general manager Rick Waite and president Don Griffin arranged to have the Fender Stratocaster signed by the famous rocker.

The guitar will be auctioned off at Hillsides’ annual benefit on February 28, 2004. This year, the black-tie gala, Puttin’ on the Glitz, will be held at the historic California Club in Los Angeles, with NBC weatherman Fritz Coleman presiding over the ceremonies and auction. For more than 90 years, Hillsides has worked to provide a safe place for abused and neglected children through their Residential Treatment, Education Center and Family Center services.

West L.A. Music supplies equipment for major artists, recording studios, broadcast companies, film and video post-production facilities, producers, composers and record companies, as well as schools, religious organizations and government agencies.
