Black River Entertainment COO Gordon Kerr announces the re-opening of Black River at Sound Stage’s (Nashville) Front Stage tracking room. Notable upgrades include the new ATC 300 speakers, moving ceiling panels in the live room, and the new selection of microphones ranging from standards to classics.

Warren Rhoades, Mike LeBlanc and legendary recording engineer Chuck Ainlay redesigned the studio to make Front Stage sonically superior and comfortable to work in. Black River commissioned interior designer Markeata Daniels to complement the state-of-the art facilities with a unique and creative vibe.

General Manager Nick Autry now helms Sound Stage. “It’s such an incredible honor to be a part of history here at Sound Stage, Autry says. "There is no doubt that we had the best possible team designing the space. From the new amp lockers to the new lounge, every aspect of this renovation is incredible.”

Recently purchased by Black River Entertainment, Sound Stage was founded in 1975. More than 500 Number One singles have been cut at Sound Stage. The company reports that the number of albums sold, recorded at Sound Stage, is well into the hundreds of millions.

Nearly every album by George Strait has been mixed at Sound Stage, while landmark albums as Steve Earle’s Guitar Town and Shania Twain’s Diamond-certified album The Woman in Me were also tracked and mixed at Sound Stage.

Recent clients have included, George Strait, Lionel Richie, Easton Corbin, blues legend Joe Louis Walker, and reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, Miranda Lambert. In addition to its Front Stage room, the facility also houses two additional studios, Back Stage and Drive Through, as well a separate, fully equipped digital editing suite.
