Underscoring the increasing importance of live sound to its overall growth strategy, Digidesign announced the appointment of former EAW executive and industry luminary Frank Loyko (pictured) to the position of worldwide director of sales for the Digidesign VENUE live sound product line. In his new position, Loyko will be responsible for defining and leading all live sound sales strategies worldwide, including managing Digidesign’s direct live sound sales team.

“Frank brings an entrepreneurial spirit and tremendous track record for building professional audio brands, and successfully leading high-performance sales teams,” says Tim Carroll, senior director of worldwide sales at Digidesign. “His broad experience in all aspects of live sound sales, along with his deep industry connections, will be crucial in helping us achieve the next level of growth in live sound.”

As one of the founding members of loudspeaker manufacturer EAW, Loyko has more than 30 years of professional audio sales experience. Most recently, Loyko served as the senior vice president of international sales at LOUD Technologies Inc., a $240 million pro audio and music products corporation, and parent company of world recognized brands Alvarez, Ampeg, Crate, EAW, Mackie and TAPCO.

“For the last two years, I’ve watched as the VENUE consoles have literally changed the way that engineers think about live sound mixing,” says Loyko. “Digidesign has effectively spurred a revolutionary leap forward, the likes of which I have not seen in over 30 years of selling professional audio equipment. I’m truly excited to work with such a strong sales team, and to build a program around such amazing products.”

Loyko will report directly to Carroll at Digidesign; he can be reached at Frank_Loyko@digidesign.com.
