elysia in Nettetal, Germany, announces that it has released a 19-inch version of its xpressor compressor ($1,499). Its main applications are stereo bus compression, processing single signals and approaching dynamics in creative ways. Further additions to the currently available 500 Series module include send and return connectors for an external sidechain, plus a superior linear power supply with a shielded toroidal transformer.

elysia designed the xpressor to provide superior audio quality, with discrete circuitry running in constant Class-A mode, combining a clear and open sound with a good amount of punch. The company states that it designed the complete audio path without using a single cable.

As with elysia's other flagship products, the xpressor offers an auto fast attack mode, switchable release characteristic, and a warm mode switch for instant coloration of the signal.

The xpressor also features an integrated sidechain filter, elysia's special gain reduction limiter and a mix controller for onboard parallel compression.

The xpressor is made in Germany of quality components, a 4mm aluminum front panel, and aluminum housing and solid aluminum knobs.
