As reported by Pro Sound News: "Los Angeles-based audio engineer Bryan Carlstrom, known for his 20-plus years working with artists like Alice in Chains and The Offspring, has died at age 51. No information on the cause of death has been released.

"Carlstrom, a graduate of the University of South Dakota and The Los Angeles Recording Workshop, accumulated multiple Gold, Platinum and Diamond album credits during his career. He worked with many notable producers and collaborated with producer Dave Jerden (Jane’s Addiction, Alice in Chains, The Rolling Stones) for 10 years. He also worked with producers Keith Forsey, Bob Rock, Ken Scott, Shel Talmy and Randy Burns.

"According to his Website, Carlstrom started his career in music touring with several indie bands throughout the Midwest before moving to Los Angeles in 1985, where he began making records in major facilities, such as Capitol Records Studio, Track Record and El Dorado Studio. Across his career, he engineered more than 50 records in a variety of genres, including hip-hop, hardcore, industrial, alternative, punk, rock, jazz, blues, world music, full orchestra, Christian music and more.

The Offspring posted the following statement to its Facebook page on Sunday: “R.I.P. Bryan Carlstrom…Godspeed…As the engineer on Ixnay [On The Hombre] and Americana he brought out the best in us.”
