GC Pro, the professional audio division of Guitar Center Inc., recently sold hip-hop producer Red Spyda a SSL AWS 900 console and Digidesign® Pro Tools®|HD3 workstation at its Manhattan location. Red Spyda (50 Cent, Eminem, Lil’ Kim, Genuine, Amerie, Sean Paul), has installed the new systems in his personal studio, the Spydadome, located in Manhattan.
Says Red Spyda, “Blue Wilding, the account manager I worked with at GC Pro, and all his crew there showed me a lot of love. They are the best. GC Pro is where I go to get lots of the things I need on an everyday basis, like cables and connectors. But when it came time to get the big stuff, GC Pro was all there for me, giving me advice and support to make sure what I got was the right stuff for me.”
The Spydadome, which was designed by New York-based Mick Corey, took delivery of the AWS 900 and Pro Tools system. “GC Pro helped me with everything, including the wiring, which was great,” Spyda adds. “The console is great. I especially like the EQ. The EQs on the 900 are the best. And it lets me run the session from the console, not the keyboard, which is the way I prefer to work. GC Pro made sure that I have what I need to make great music.”
