Wind-up Records has announced the expansion of its operations with the creation of Wind-up Entertainment Canada Inc. a full-service record company that will be distributed by Warner Music Canada. The headquarters will be based in Toronto, and will open for business on October 21, 2004. Ron Morse has been named the general manager for the new venture and will oversee all aspects of the business. For the past five years, Morse, a 20-year music industry veteran, was responsible for marketing International Repertoire for Sony Music Canada. Previous to that, he spent five years at Warner Music Canada, and 10 years at Sam The Record Man pre-dating his move to the record company side.

Wind-up Records president Steve Lerner offered, "This is an exciting time in the evolution of Wind-up. We have had enormous success in Canada to date, and it is undoubtedly the right time to enter the Canadian record business with our own staff. With Ron's arrival, we could not ask for a better addition to the Wind-up family as a leader to launch the next chapter in the company's history." Morse mentioned, "I have been impressed with Wind-Up for some time and it is an amazing opportunity to be a part of its development in Canada. The company has always been committed to breaking bands and I am thrilled to be a part of our current and future successes."

"These are great people to be in business with," commented Warner Music Canada president Steve Kane. "They have built an incredible track record in a relatively short period of time and we're proud to be able to be a part of their future in Canada."

In addition to being the home of the Wind-Up catalog, the company's first new releases will be a live DVD/CD set from Evanescence and a Creed Greatest Hits CD/DVD compilation.
