Acoustic Energy, a UK-based designer and manufacturer of audiophile-grade loudspeakers, announced that it is making an “aggressive return to the North American professional audio market," according to CEO/president Moses Gabbay.
“From the most advanced studios to home-based DIY hobbyists, there is a legion of engineers and producers who are committed to creating impeccable music and soundtrack recordings,” Gabbay says. “After receiving so many accolades at last month’s [Winter] NAMM show, I am convinced that the pro audio market is hungry for a line of high performance near-field monitors that offer ruler-flat response that is consistently honest and trustworthy. This is where Acoustic Energy excels.”
The first AE Pro products to ship to North America will be the AE22-01 passive and AE22-04 active near-field monitors. Sold as mirror-image pairs, both models promise exemplary timing and the sonic signature of Acoustic Energy’s AE-1 monitor.
Looking ahead, AE Pro states that it is expanding to address the needs of modern 5.1 multi-channel post-production with the introduction of the AE22-10 ProSat powered satellite speaker (100 watts RMS each) and AE22-08 ProSub powered subwoofer (200W RMS). The company says that it will announce distribution details when the products ship in late March.
