The fourth annual Grammy Camp program for 75 selected high school students will take place July 12-26, 2008 in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music and other professional venues. Grammy Camp, sponsored by Epiphone Guitar, focuses on all aspects of commercial music, offering instruction from industry professionals in an immersive creative environment with cutting-edge technology in professional facilities.
The curriculum engages students in the technical aspects of creating, performing and recording music, emphasizing new and emerging technologies. The program offers 15 music career tracks: audio engineering, DJ/remixing, film scoring, music journalism, music production, videogame music and sound design, and performance tracks in keyboard, guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and songwriting. A new track this year, concert promotion/production, is being coordinated by AEG Live.
All tracks culminate in media projects, CD recordings and/or showcase performances.
An online application is available here; the deadline for students and counselors to apply is April 30, 2008.
