Scholarships to LA Music Academy are now available for all music departments (bass, drums, guitar and vocal), according to the school's president, Tom Aylesbury. Interested domestic and international students who demonstrate exceptional musical talent, ability and enthusiasm can apply now for the 2008-2009 school year. Applicants are evaluated based on their essays, academic history, playing skills and letters of recommendation. Last year, LA Music Academy awarded $100,000 in scholarships.

"The overall skill level of our student base is increasing dramatically," says Aylesbury. He says the average graduate GPA has soared to above 3.5, adding, "As more scholarships are awarded, the bar is being raised, and we see that the students are challenging each other to perform and work with their peers just as if they were working in professional situations."

LA Music Academy offers students the opportunity to play in ensembles with some of L.A.'s finest professional studio musicians and performers, as well as intense lesson plans. The Academy states that students receive personal attention from instructors, and that students who used those connections wisely have gone on to perform with artists such as Chick Corea, Jeff Beck, Lifehouse, Ricky Martin, Hilary Duff, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, The Calling, Sepultura and Airto.
