At a press conference at the 2007 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Minnetonka Audio unveiled Batch Pro, a professional-quality batch processing utility. Available for Mac and PC platforms, Batch Pro is a tool for editing, signal processing, encoding and converting audio files in a batch mode. The user specifies input files, configures a chain of one or more processors, sets parameters for each processor and submits the job to the Job Queue. All files are automatically processed and placed in the specified output location.

Automatable editing functions include Fade In and Fade Out (any length, in standard or custom surves); Cut (with the ability to sent in/out points via timecode or manually in "punch" style, with or without crossfades); Mute; Trim; Insert Silence; Concatenate; Mix; Channel Merge; Extract Mono Files from Multitrack; Volume/Gain Change; and Normalize. Onboard DSP functions include EQ (parametric, notch or shelving); Compression; Gating; Sample Rate Conversion; Bit Depth Conversion; and Time Compression/Expansion.

Batch Pro also provides access to external analog and digital gear via a Device I/O plug-in, which automatically compensates for input/output latency while allowing external hardware signal processing to be part of the batch process, if desired. Additionally, Batch Pro supports VST plug-ins including stereo and surround versions.

Batch Pro natively supports Minnetonka Audio’s SurCode line of surround encoding software for Dolby Digital Surround, Dolby Digital Stereo, Dolby PLII, DTS Surround and MLP (Meridian Lossless Packing). As a bonus, integration with Batch Pro also provides extended functionality not available from stand-alone encoders. For example, it can scan an entire job for the dialog normalization level and automatically set Dolby Digital’s Dialog Norm based on the analysis.
