Plug-ins are in use almost every day in any music production. What's your go-to plug-in? What's the oddest use you've put a plug-in into effect? E-mail the staff at mixeditorial@mixonline.com.

The Manhattan Producers Alliance (MPA)--a membership-based cooperative of music industry professionals in New York City, founded with the mission of helping its members share knowledge, resources and contacts--is offering a Fall Workshop Series at its state-of-the-art facility. Two seminars remain.

On Saturday, October 28, Hans Ten Broeke (whose credits include Super Size Me and Frontline) will lead "Audio Post-Production." On Saturday, December 2, Paul Special will lead "In the Box," a course in modern DAW techniques. Participating students will gain hands-on experience with professionals. Additionally, each workshop includes an invitation to an industry-networking event that is held held the night before.

The seminars make use of MPA's vast collection of technological resources, and instructors are drawn from MPA’s diverse network of seasoned composers, producers, music supervisors and sound designers. After the success of its first seminar, "On Film Scoring," the Alliance is convinced that its educational initiative will continue to grow and develop to all parties' benefit.
