At the 2008 Winter NAMM show, NAMM president and CEO Joe Lamond (pictured at left) presented Kathy Peck with the organization's "Believe In Music" 20-year achievement award in recognition of her dedicated service to the music industry in hearing conservation and education with H.E.A.R. Peck is the cofounder and executive director of H.E.A.R.

Peck's ongoing efforts promoting hearing education and safety reflect her commitment to helping those in need, as well as giving attention to the challenges facing the music industry and consumers alike. Working with only charitable donations and public contributions to fund her non-profit organization, Peck has gained the support of many of the industry's top performers, including Pete Townshend and Herbie Hancock, as well as businesses, manufacturers, vendors and educators.

"I'm so grateful to be honored by Joe Lamond and everyone at NAMM. The real work is still ahead of us," she says.

Immediately following the presentation, Peck was interviewed by longtime supporter, Future Sonics founder and president Marty Garcia, for an upcoming video presentation commemorating her award for the NAMM Oral History video and historical archive. "Kathy gives hearing conservation a voice that comes from her own real experience, and she surrounds herself with the experts who provide excellent resources through her organization," says Garcia.

Peck has announced plans for a special anniversary concert for later this year; H.E.A.R. will announce the details of the event at a later time.
