Keith R. Klawitter, a professional audio veteran and well-known founder of loudspeaker manufacturing company KRK Systems Inc., announces a new venture: KK labs. The new company, based in Huntington Beach, Calif., is focused on the design and manufacture of high-end audio products for the recording studio and live professional markets.
KK labs is offering a variety of pro audio products, including the DS8 studio monitor, TAZ15c stage monitor, DSP control and Class-D power amplifier modules. Founder and company president Klawitter informally unveiled the new DS8, a DSP/Ethernet-controlled, self-powered, 8-inch, two-way studio monitor, at the Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, Calif., in late January.
Klawitter states: “We had a great coming out party at NAMM. Everyone was hyped up about how great the DS8 sounds and was glad to see I was back making monitors. It was a great feeling, and fantastic to see all my old friends. In parallel with our studio systems, we are developing and designing a full line of very high end live P.A. stage systems, to bridge that sonic gap between live and studio."
Klawitter has more than 30 years in the pro audio industry, having started out in 1977 as a recording, technical and mixing engineer. Klawitter quickly became acknowledged as an industry leader in the field of studio monitor products, and KRK Systems was frequently nominated for the prestigious annual TEC Award.
