Lab.gruppen in Kungsbacka, Sweden, which owns the Lake Processing brand of digital audio loudspeaker processing, has entered into a technological alliance with Yamaha. The result of this partnership is a new dedicated Mini YGDAI (Yamaha General Digital Audio Interface) card, the MY8-LAKE card, which implements advanced Lake Processing technology in a DSP expansion card designed specifically for Yamaha digital mixing consoles.
The new MY8-LAKE card includes Mesa EQ, Ideal Graphic EQ, linear-phase crossover, and other intuitive sonic tuning features. It will be distributed and supported exclusively by Yamaha.
The card offers up to eight inputs/eight outputs in Mesa mode (system EQ), four inputs/12 outputs in Contour mode (crossover), or combinations to suit the application. Flexible I/O configurations are available via the console’s insert points as well as the card’s AES/EBU connectors, plus the ability to run at 96, 88.2, 48, or 44.1 kHz, to integrate Lake Processing into any system.
The latest version of the Lake Controller software installed on a compatible Tablet PC allows precision control of the MY8-LAKE as well as other Lake devices in the system, including Lake’s LM Series and Lab.gruppen’s PLM Series. Plus, it provides access to more than 1,000 loudspeaker presets.
Lab.gruppen states that the MY8-LAKE release is scheduled for spring 2012.
