Mix magazine hosted a series of panels under the Sound Track banner at the recent LDI Conference and Trade Show, which was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. While the focus of the LDI show is lighting and design, informative workshops and panels provide another draw.

This year, three of the panel topics were titled "Using Plug-ins Live," "Last Call for White Spaces!" and "Recording the Show." Panelists included live sound engineers Buford Jones (Meyer Sound), Robert Scovill (Digidesign) and Nick Simonds (Hard Rock Hotel), and a host of other pros across a range of job titles. Mix magazine technical editor Kevin Becka acted as moderator for all three panels, which drew attendees from all over the U.S. and Canada.
Other panelists included heads of audio from Cirque du Soleil; representatives from Waves, Roland Systems Group and Sennheiser; former White House audio engineer Carl Cordes (Professional Wireless); and Matt Bishop (Alford Media Services).
