Prism Sound and SADiE have announced dates and venues for a free seminar tour that begins on April 29 at Bournemouth University in Bournemouth, UK, and then travels around the UK over the course of the next two weeks.
BBC producer and SADiE expert Pete Nash
Prism Sound and SADiE staff will present the seminars on broadcast and location recording techniques, assisted by leading practitioners in the industry that include BBC producer and SADiE expert Pete Nash (pictured); freelance BBC SADiE editor Peregrine Andrews; renowned freelance TV and film location recordist Simon Bishop and classical music location recording expert Tony Faulkner.
The broadcast seminars will examine how the BBC integrates SADiE products with its radio automation system VCS for Radio 1, Radio 2, Radio 3, Radio 4 and the World Service. Attendees will see firsthand SADiE's tools for radio feature, drama and drama-documentary production, as well as creating a radio package and the meaning of integration with the playout server.
These seminars will also give behind-the-scenes information on how high-level productions and Sony award winning programs have been made using SADiE, along with tips, processes and methods for making top productions.
The location recording seminars will look at how the SADiE LRX2 captures multichannel digital audio on location for programs such as Wired for Sound, The Restaurant and The Apprentice, among others. Attendees will learn practical tips of the trade when it comes to capturing audio on location.
All seminars will offer attendees the opportunity to talk with presenters about careers and the opportunities that SADiE knowledge can bring with the new BBC and independent radio production sector.
Reservations for these events are free and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. For a list of dates and venues, and to reserve a space, visit the SADiE Website at www.sadie.com/SADiETour09.
