Andreas Meyer of Tangerine Mastering

Tangerine Mastering in Weehawken, N.J., announces that Andreas Meyer (pictured), producer and head mastering engineer, has been nominated for a 2009 Grammy Award in the Best Historical Album category, for his mastering work on the four-CD set Classic Columbia, Okeh and Vocalion: Lester Young with Count Basie (1936-1940). The collection released on Mosaic Records contains 83 tracks originally released on 78-rpm phonograph records by Columbia and the legendary Okeh and Vocalion labels.

As a producer and mastering engineer to first-tier musicians for more than 15 years, Meyer has received numerous Grammy Awards over his career. His credits include hundreds of releases from some of the most prestigious record labels in the music industry. Meyer helped establish Tangerine Mastering after leaving Sony Music Studios (New York City) in 2007. In the past few years, Meyer's mastering work in genres as varied as rock, R&B and modern Latin jazz has solidified his standing in the business.

The Society of Composers Inc. and the Society for Electroacoustic Music have recognized Meyer. In 1994, he was awarded the ASCAP Grant for Young Composers.
