Until July 20, 2012, the TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio in Walnut Creek, Calif., will accept entries for the 28th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards, to be held January 25, 2013 at the Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, Calif. The TEC Awards is the professional audio and sound production industry’s premier awards event and is attended by manufacturers of audio equipment and software, and the world’s top music producers, engineers, sound mixers and musical artists.

The TEC Awards will inaugurate two new awards in the Outstanding Technical Achievement categories, bringing to 21 the number of awards for audio product design. Headphone/Earpiece Technology will include headphones and in-ear transducers for professional studios, live sound and broadcast. Audio Apps for Smartphones & Tablets will include software for recording and music production, audio measurement, audio/music utilities, controllers, signal processing and musical instruments. Eight awards for Outstanding Creative Achievement will also be presented for sound production of recordings, concert tours, films, television, interactive entertainment and other projects.

Companies wishing to enter their products or projects introduced during the eligibility year of September 1, 2011 through August 31, 2012, should visit tecfoundation.com/CFE2012. Entries will be accepted through July 20, 2012.
