George Thorogood (left) and producer Jim Gaines

Blues-rock icon George Thorogood and his band The Destroyers have returned to Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tenn. to record new material and to re-cut classic tracks for an upcoming EMI “best of” album. Included in the new collection is the enduring worldwide hit “Bad to the Bone,” which was featured in Stephen King’s Christine and also Terminator 2: Judgment Day, among numerous other films and TV shows.
Jim Gaines is producer on the sessions, with Sean Burman engineering and Jason Gillespie assisting. Thorogood and his band recently performed in Memphis at the Beale Street Music Festival while in town recording at Ardent, where the new album is being mixed by John Hampton.
